Overview
Cricketx is a cricket analysis studio for exploring teams, players, and matchups through a broadcast-inspired interface — including squad browsing, player comparisons, a playing XI builder, and delivery-by-delivery match simulations. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app and its background services collect, how that information is used, how long it is kept, and the choices available to you.
Cricketx uses a small set of established third-party services — Firebase Analytics, OneSignal, and the Google Play Install Referrer API — to keep the app stable, understand aggregate usage patterns, and support relevant advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and we only collect what is reasonably needed to run and improve the app.
By downloading, installing, or using Cricketx, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
What We Collect
We collect three broad categories of information, plus a small amount of data that never leaves your device.
Personal Data
- Contact information you voluntarily provide if you email our support address, including your email address and the content of your message.
- Cricketx does not require an account or sign-in to use its core catalogue, comparison, and simulation features, and we do not knowingly collect names, phone numbers, or physical addresses through normal use.
Technical Data
- Device model, operating system version, screen resolution, and general hardware performance characteristics.
- App version, install source, crash logs, and diagnostic identifiers used to keep the app stable.
- Advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID / Android AAID), where available. This identifier is retained only for as long as your device makes it available to us and is used solely for advertising and analytics purposes.
- IP address, used transiently for regional configuration and fraud prevention, and generally not stored in a form linked to your identity.
Usage Data
- Interaction data such as which teams, players, and venues you search or view, which catalogue filters you apply, and which comparison or simulation screens you open.
- Feature usage such as playing XI builds, simulation setups (format, venue, pitch profile, toss decision, seed), playback actions, and achievements unlocked.
- Push notification delivery and open events, where notifications are enabled.
On-Device Data
- Local data — including your saved playing XI selections, simulation history, replay data, forecast results, and achievement progress — is stored directly on your device using local storage.
- The bundled sample dataset that powers Cricketx's catalogue, comparison, and simulation features ships with the app itself; core browsing and analysis remain usable without a network connection, though this sample data is not live or official and is refreshed only when you choose to update it.
- On-device data may be transmitted to our analytics or backend services for backup, cross-device sync (where offered), or troubleshooting purposes; it is not kept in isolation from the rest of this policy.
How We Use It
- To operate core features, including saving your playing XI, syncing your simulation and comparison history, and rendering your achievement progress.
- To diagnose crashes, performance issues, and bugs, and to improve catalogue search, comparison accuracy, and simulation performance over time.
- To understand aggregate usage behavior — for example, which teams or comparison views are most explored — so we can prioritize future updates.
- To generate match simulations and analytical forecasts from player and team attributes. These outputs use probability ranges, keep confidence separate from data completeness, and explain their contributing factors — they are illustrative estimates, not predictions of certain outcomes and not financial or betting advice.
- To deliver push notifications about updates, new features, or re-engagement reminders, where you have allowed notifications.
- To serve and measure advertising, and to detect fraudulent installs or invalid ad traffic.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of use.
Cookies & Similar Technologies
Cricketx is a native mobile application and does not use browser cookies in the traditional sense. Instead, the app and its partners use comparable device-level technologies:
- SDK identifiers — Firebase Analytics and OneSignal assign internal instance identifiers to your install to distinguish sessions and deliver notifications reliably.
- Advertising identifiers — used by ad partners to measure campaign performance and avoid duplicate attribution for the same install.
- Local storage — used to remember your settings, save your playing XI and simulation history, and record that you have completed onboarding.
You can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad tracking at any time in your device's system settings.
Advertising
Cricketx may display in-app advertising and, separately, may promote itself through third-party ad networks. To support this, we work with industry-standard tools:
- Firebase Analytics — helps us understand engagement and measure the effectiveness of features and campaigns.
- Google Play Install Referrer — tells us, at install time, which campaign or source led to your download, so we can measure marketing performance. This is not an anonymous identifier; it is tied to your specific install event for attribution purposes.
- OneSignal — used for push notification delivery, and may also process device-level identifiers needed to route messages correctly.
Your advertising identifier (where available) is retained only for as long as your device makes it available to us and is used solely for advertising and analytics purposes. Where required by your region's law, ads may be limited to non-personalized delivery based on your consent choices, and you can opt out of interest-based advertising through your device's ad settings.
Saved Data & Local History
Cricketx does not use an in-game currency or virtual economy. Instead, the app stores a set of personal working data that you build up as you use it:
- Playing XI builds — your saved squads of exactly 11 unique players, including wicketkeeping, batting and bowling balance checks, and your nominated captain and vice-captain.
- Simulation history — completed match simulations (teams, format, venue, pitch profile, toss decision, and seed) that you can replay, along with their scorecards and event timelines.
- Saved comparisons and forecasts — player and team comparisons you have opened, and any forecast results generated for them.
- Achievements — progress markers that reflect actions you have completed within the app.
Your Content
Some parts of Cricketx let you create and label your own content, such as naming a saved playing XI, a comparison, or a simulation setup.
- This content is stored on your device (and, where account sync is offered, on our backend) and is intended for your own personal use within the app rather than public sharing.
- Do not enter personal, sensitive, or identifying information into any free-text field, as such fields are not designed for private communication and are not reviewed as messages.
- We reserve the right to remove or reset saved content that violates our terms of use.
Data Sharing
We share limited data with the following categories of third parties, strictly to operate the services described in this policy:
- Analytics providers (Firebase Analytics) — to measure engagement and stability.
- Notification providers (OneSignal) — to deliver push messages you have opted into.
- Attribution providers (Google Play Install Referrer) — to measure install sources.
- Advertising partners — where in-app or promotional advertising is served.
- Legal and safety authorities — where required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights and safety of our users.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your consent, where required by applicable law.
Data Retention
We retain different categories of information for different lengths of time, depending on their purpose:
| Data Category | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Saved playing XIs, simulation & comparison history (local + synced) | Duration of app install, plus up to 12 months after uninstall for restore purposes |
| Analytics & usage data | Up to 26 months |
| Advertising identifier | Retained only for as long as your device makes it available to us and is used solely for advertising and analytics purposes |
| Crash & diagnostic logs | Up to 90 days |
| Support correspondence (email) | Up to 24 months after resolution |
| Install referrer data | Up to 90 days after install |
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data, including your local save and any synced backend records.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including advertising-related processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent (for example, push notifications or personalized ads).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13. You can also reset your advertising identifier, disable notifications, or uninstall the app at any time directly from your device.
Children's Privacy
Cricketx is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate parental consent, we will take steps to delete it.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details in Section 13 so we can investigate and, where appropriate, remove that information.
Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or the app itself. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this document, and where required by law, we will provide additional notice within the app.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Cricketx after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
